Cleveland Lane Community Garden
The Cleveland Lane Community Garden was established on City of Ukiah land in the low-income, sweat-equity, ethnically diverse neighborhood of Cleveland Lane in 2000. The garden was developed and established through the efforts of a small group of local volunteers responding to a Mendocino County Task Force on Hunger report in 1999. The garden was successfully established as Ukiah's only community garden by working with the City of Ukiah and the local neighborhoods. The garden serves over 28 families and individuals. The Cleveland Lane Community Garden has been a collaboration between the City of Ukiah, The Cloud Forest Institute, and the Cleveland Lane gardeners. The Cleveland Lane Community Garden is a new member of the Gardens Network and the Community Gardens Project of NCO.
